1. Let a bit of dust collect through the windows by opening all windows and allowing the wind to blow. As well, I recommend removing all fly screens from windows and doors so that dust does not accumulate on them, which would be another chore for you to clean. In order to maintain privacy and security, I would leave it overnight or for about 12 hours.

1. Then I would dry wipe the ceilings and walls with a doodle pad while wearing a mask. During this process you will have disturbed and agitated this dust, which will float back into the air and fall and settle on horizontal surfaces and carpets. After the dust has settled, I will move on to the next stage. Make sure you vacuum or wipe out air conditioning ducts or vents, otherwise when you turn it on, dust will go over everything you have just cleaned, GRRRRRR!!
2. When you wipe down surfaces with a duster, you are only displacing dust to settle someplace else. My preferred method is to wipe surfaces with a chemical liquid and microfiber cloth. Pay attention to edges and corners when wiping.
3. You can either hire a professional window cleaner or do it yourself once you are certain that all the dust has been collected and removed. After that you should vacuum the whole floor. Then, using the three wet mop method, I would mop all hard floors. You should slosh a fair amount of water on stone, concrete, tile, or vinyl floors (you cannot use this method on wooden floors). Your second mopping should be for picking up excess water, and your third mopping should be for drying the floor.
